Homesteader’s Daughter is a true story of new settlers on the empty Dakota Prairie as told by three generations--the youngest is 99.

         The youngest of the second generation wrote: “It is a fulfillment of the desire expressed by many that the story be written so later generations might know more about the Beld’s migration and life in America.

         “It should be of interest to all later generations to know about the religious and economic forces which caused our forefathers to come to this land of promise.

         “Our (immigrant) father did his part...(we) must go on from there.”
